The Sullivan CUSD 300 received a very complimentary letter that we would like to share with permission from the writer. Could not be prouder of our students at Sullivan CUSD 300. From Jenny Crockett Ripple Today I was privileged to be allowed to volunteer for the middle school kids so their teachers could enjoy a staff luncheon. Myself along with three other parent volunteers supervised lunch and an extended recess for 5-8 grades. I wanted to commend the children who offered respectful platitudes of please, thank you, and more of the same. Kids will be kids, but I have to say we have some extraordinary kids at SMS and this is something cultivated both at school and at home. Big shout out to the village that it takes to raise respectful, kind kiddos. In today’s world that seems to be a challenge due to the many changes we see as a society. There were many proud moments watching the kids interact and play today. What stuck out to me the most was the girl spending some of her recess time picking up litter in the park. Another student helped his friend after he took a fall, and made sure he wasn’t injured before helping him up. These examples are just a few of what I personally noticed today. It pleases me much that this is the behavior that is being instilled into our kids from not only parents and caretakers at home, but we have some amazing staff at our school that is an integral part of this excellence. Thank a teacher soon, even if it isn’t teacher appreciation day!
