Good luck to our SMS Boys Basketball team who begins its season this evening! They will travel to Casey and play Casey-Westfield @ Monroe Elementary School. 6 PM start time. Here is their schedule for this year - be sure to come out and support! Go Redskins! #OneTribe


Good luck to our SMS 8th Grade Lady Redskins Basketball team who will be playing in the JHOC Tournament Championship this evening vs Villa Grove! Game time is approximately 7:15 PM and will be played at Okaw Valley Middle School in Findlay. Go Lady Redskins!! #OneTribe

The SMS Lady Redskins 8th Grade team won their semifinal matchup last night and will move on to play Villa Grove in the JHOC Tournament Championship game! Game will be this Thursday, October 31st starting at approximately 7:15 PM at Okaw Valley Middle School in Findlay.
The 7th Grade team had another hard fought battle with Tuscola and unfortunately lost by 2 in their semifinal matchup. They will be back in action next Tuesday, November 5th vs Mattoon MS in the SES gym . 6 PM start.

SMS Girls Basketball will be in action tomorrow night (Monday, October 28th) for the semi-finals of the JHOC conference tournament! 7th grade will get a rematch against Tuscola starting at 6 PM and 8th grade will follow starting at approximately 7:15 PM also playing Tuscola! Both games will be played at Okaw Valley Middle School. Good luck and Go Lady Redskins! #OneTribe

Schedule Update (11/6): The originally scheduled 5/6 Boys Basketball game vs Mattoon on November 6th has been rescheduled. The new date will be Monday, November 25th starting at 6 PM in the SHS Gym.

SMS Girls Basketball starts JHOC Conference Tournament play this Saturday, October 26th @ Okaw Valley Middle School. The Sullivan Lady Redskins received the #1 seed for the tournament. 7th Grade will play Okaw Valley starting at 9 AM . 8th Grade will have a bye in the first round as OV is limited on numbers due to injuries, and will field a 7th grade team only in the tournament. Congratulations to the SMS Cross Country team for their outstanding performances at the state meet! Aaliyah Osborn placed 21st and Easton Wickline placed 23rd, both earning all-state recognition. The girls team finished 11th overall, and the boys finished 17th! Way to go! PROUD to be a Redskin! #OneTribe

-Girls Race begins at 10:45 AM

Parking information:
There is limited paved parking space in the parking lot at Parkside Junior High School. The majority of the parking will be available in the paved lot north of Maxwell Park across Gregory Street near Champion Fields. There will also be grass parking available in that area. Please encourage parents to use the Champion Field lots.
a. Parking is also available in the Normal West High School parking lots. Limited parking is available on the streets surrounding Maxwell Park and Parkside Junior High School. Please refer to posted street signs. The Town of Normal police will ticket cars that are illegally parked.

Schedule Change: SMS Girls Basketball game originally scheduled to be played on 11/7 @ Arcola, has been moved to the day prior and will now be played on November 6th starting at 6 PM @ Arcola. This change was due to Arcola having a conflict with band on the original date. Go Redskins! #OneTribe

Coach Badman and Coach Whit nominated Owen Hooten and Easton Wickline for the All State Jr High Boys Showcase this past weekend in Jacksonville IL. They were on an 8th grade team with 1 player from ALAH, 1 player from Mt. Zion, 2 players from Decatur Catholic and 5 players from Monticello. Their team went 5-0 for the weekend and won the entire tournament. In the championship game, Easton pitched a shutout with Owen behind the plate to win 10-0. Easton was also given one of the All Tournament Team Awards.

For the second year in a row both the SMS Boys and Girls teams are headed to State! Both teams finished 2nd overall at Sectionals! Congratulations to all! The team will be back in town for an escort around The Square in about 15 minutes! If you aren't doing anything come out and support these hardworking kids and welcome them back in to town!
The SMS boys and girls cross country teams had outstanding performances at the Sectional meet today! Three individuals also earned medals. On the boys' side, Easton Wickline dominated the race, finishing in 1st place, and Bryson Hill earned 10th place. For the girls, Aaliyah Osborn secured a 3rd place finish.

Good luck to our SMS Cross Country team who competes in IESA Sectionals this morning at the General Dacey Trail in Forest Park @ Shelbyville! Girls race begins at 10 AM and the Boys race will begin at 10:45 AM. #OneTribe
**Spectators are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 for the event as it is a busy day in the park with a parade also occurring. If they do not arrive by this time, they may not get into the park. Spectators will be able to park in the parking lot immediately to the right when they enter the park at the baseball diamonds or at the pool parking lot. Signs will be posted. **


Schedule Update (10/16): Next Wednesday's 5th and 6th Grade Girls Basketball game @ Mattoon Middle School start time has been pushed up to 5:00 PM for 5th grade game, followed by the 6th grade game. Bus departure time is now 4 PM. #OneTribe
